We took our first field trip of the year and it was awesome! We went to the Dover Air Force Base. We have gone for several years now but our guide made this year the best yet! The kids loved it and they got to go on so many planes! They also watched a helicopter land!!!! This was a great day!!! Check out all of the photos below!!!
On Monday, we worked on our vowels and identifying words with different vowels in the middle. We sang the song Vowel Bat by Shari Sloan and then we used our Vowel Bat sticks to identify their vowels they hear!
Then they searched the room room for Vowel bats with words on it! They loved this activity!!!!
Today was the 50th day of school! I love this day and so do my firsties! First we did some morning activities! They got to listen to 50's music as they entered the class room and did their morning work. We then got our picture taken in front of the awesome jukebox I got from oriental trading!
We learned about how they lived during the 1950's and compared it to today. Then we had a bubblegum blowing contest!
They went on a word hunt and had to find 50 words that were hidden around the room! We had a sock hop and ended the day with milk shakes and root beer floats!
What an awesome day!
Election day is coming! So today in Social Studies, we learned about what Election Day is! We learned lots of new vocabulary! We read a couple of books about Election Day! We read Duck for President and had a mock election! We had to fill out our ballot voting for either duck or Farmer Brown for President! Here are some photos of them voting!!!!!
The results of our election was Duck won 16 - 5!
Today we discussed the wind in science! The kids have words to describe the wind! We read an awesome book called The Wind Blew and did an activity with it!
The best part of science today today was when they became the big bad wolf! They had to huff and puff and blow objects across their table! They had to count how many huffs and puffs it would take!!! They loved it!!!
